What does comprehensive travel insurance cover?
Our Ultimate plan does more than just help protect you from common travel hiccups. It can have your back if something goes wrong on your trip, like delays, cancellations, illnesses, or injuries. Its extra coverage with higher benefit limits and optional upgrades can give you extra confidence while traveling — especially if you’ve invested a lot in your vacation or are planning unique activities.
What else do you get with our best comprehensive travel insurance plan? Our Ultimate plan comes with support from our team of travel experts, available 24/7 via our Travel On app and assistance line.
How is Ultimate different from other comprehensive travel insurance plans?
And what does comprehensive travel insurance even mean? Comprehensive travel insurance gives you coverage before you leave home and while you’re traveling. This means you’re better protected even if you can’t go on your vacation.
Our Ultimate plan offers the same benefits as our other comprehensive plans, Advantage and Essential — plus much more. With Ultimate, you can insure a higher trip cost and longer trip length, meaning you can get more money back for certain eligible expenses.
Here are some benefits available only with our Ultimate plan, which make it our best comprehensive travel insurance:
• Kids-included pricing: Ultimate's comprehensive travel insurance includes coverage for one child 17 or younger per each insured adult traveler, making it a great option for families (The child's trip cost must be the same or less than the adult's individual trip cost for coverage to apply. If you add upgrades to your policy, we'll charge each traveler for the upgrade premium.)
• Trip inconvenience: If closed attractions, a closed beach, or cruise disablement interrupt your trip, you can receive a one-time payment up to $200.
• Waiver of the pre-existing condition exclusion: Ultimate can include coverage for your pre-existing medical conditions in your policy. To get the waiver, buy our Ultimate plan within 21 days of your first trip payment and insure your total trip cost.
• Nine optional upgrades: Exclusive to our Ultimate plan, you can choose to add our cancel for any reason, cancel for business reasons, and medical upgrades to your policy. Plus, we have six other upgrades available, so you can tailor your policy to the vacation you planned.
