Important: If you’re thinking about exploring Italy on a moped, motorbike, or quadbike, it’s important to know that our rental car damage upgrade doesn’t apply to those vehicles. So, if you have the upgrade and rent a moped, motorbike, or quadbike, we won’t cover any damage to that vehicle.

But because you can’t predict what will happen during — or even before — your getaway, it’s important to make sure you’re protected if you need to cancel your Italy trip.

The good news is our Ultimate, Advantage, and Essential plans offer trip cancellation coverage, so you can receive reimbursement for certain reasons listed in your policy. Just make sure you include your full trip cost when getting a quote and buying your policy to ensure you’ll have enough coverage.

Want the flexibility of being able to cancel your trip for any reason? Our cancel for any reason upgrade* may be a great choice for you — it’s available on our most comprehensive plan, Ultimate. With the upgrade included in your policy, you can cancel your Italy vacation for any reason up to two days before you depart and receive 75% ($7,500 maximum) of your insured trip cost back.

Important: The cancel for any reason upgrade applies if you purchase the Ultimate plan with the upgrade within 21 days of making your first payment for the trip and 31 days or more before your departure date. Also, you must insure all your prepaid and nonrefundable expenses, but keep in mind that there's a limit — your trip's total cost can't be more than $10,000.
